Game Importation Into The U.S.
Game trophies are regulated by CBP, USDA, Fish and Wildlife and CDC for specific species. Some species like leopard, lion, elephant, bontebok and argali require an import permit.
When you go hunting (especially in Africa and Asia), please always ask your P.H. or outfitter to give you a copy of your hunting permit and hunting register. These documents serve as your proof of legal hunt.
Do not ever allow your outfitter or shipper to put your name on any trophies that you did not hunt or do not belong to you – that is illegal. All hunters including minor children must have his/her own set of export documents that matches the “actual” animals harvested. Any Lacey Act violation or “false declaration” on paperwork could result in seizures and penalties
When you notify us of an incoming shipment or scheduled trip, we will require the details of your hunt and have you complete and sign a customs power of attorney form. We will track and monitor your shipment until it arrives in the U.S. and advise you when they are cleared and ready for dispatch to the final destination. We also assist in CITES import permit applications, petition for remission in seizure cases, re-export of rejected shipments, handcarried trophies, domestic transportation, etc.
Commercial Shipments
We also clear commercial shipments and likewise handle trophy exports overseas for museums and foreign individuals or groups who hunt in the U.S. Please feel free to send us email (contact Maria Felix email: maria@b.hunter-international.net) or call us at 925 417 5270 for free consultation.
